If you have an ecommerce site and you occassionally need to hire expensive graphic artists to make ecovers or eboxes for you please listen carefully  because you will be interested in what I've experienced hours before recording this message.

I'm really excited because within less than 1 hour of installing my eCoverGenerator software I created a fantastic eBook cover.

It was incredibly easy to do and I was blown away by some of the software's features that let me make a finished image that I honestly didn't think I could ever generate on my own.

If you decide to read this review, and I hope you do, you'll be able to see for yoursell the actual cover that was made during the testing of this software.

Enjoy the following review and I hope the information helps to skyrocket your online profits.

 Review of

eCoverGenerator

This review is intentionally designed as a "how-to" description for creating eCovers for your eBook, eReport or eNewsletter projects with software, created by Armand Morin called eCoverGenerator.

After you've read this piece you'll know how easy it was for me to create the eCovers that appear elsewhere in this review. And...

The "pros" and "cons" of the software are mentioned throughout this product description so you'll have a better idea about this website design tool's suitability to meet your needs.

I bought the eCoverGenerator service and test it out. I went through a small number of steps and documented my every move.

Here's what I did:

Step 1: I visited www.sellinfoproductsonline.com/cover_maker.html and ordered the software called "eCoverGenerator".

If you have never ordered downloadable software over the internet you should be advised of a few things.

  • First, make certain you have a solid block of uninterrupted time to fill in your customer information, credit card info, and to download or record the links to the downloadable files (if you plan to do the downloading at a later time);
  • Have your credit card information available;
  • Print out the downloading instructions page. If actual url link addresses are not clearly seen on the print out page place your mouse's cursor over each download link and see if the url address appears in the status bar located at the bottom of your browser's window. If you see the addresses record them on the download page printout. If you cannot see a url you'll need to download each file in the order that they appear on the page before you leave that page.
  • Understand that downloading software and getting it to operate on your computer usually involves three separate steps: the download to your computer, installation onto your computer and restarting your computer to activate it.

On the day that I ordered eCoverGenerator I reached the download page at 4:55 p.m. and downloaded all the software and bonuses by 5:05 p.m.

I wrote down the actual size of each file that was loaded on my download instructions page.

Several weeks later, when I had time to install the software, I discovered that the eCoverGenerator file would not install. I received a warning message alerting me that information was missing. So,

Since weeks had elapsed since I had ordered the program I went to my printed version of the download page and discovered that I had not written down the link to download the software.

I sent an email to the support desk at eCoverGenerator's site and mentioned the problem. Understand that it was around 3 a.m. on a Sunday morning when I sent off this email and in less than 12 hours I had received a reply and instructions on redownloading the files. Very impressive...

The instructions were  to delete and/or uninstall any existing parts of the eCover Generator program first and then download again from the link that was sent in the email message.

Once the program was downloaded I installed it by clicking on the file's icon and an installation wizard walked me through the easy installation process.

After the eCover Generator program was installed I then repeated the process with the templates file set up.

The installation order of the eCover Generator program and the templates setup program is very important. First do the eCover Generator and then upload and install the templates setup file.

When I ordered the programs the Template setup file was 5.4 MB in size according to the download page. When I first downloaded the file only 5.28 MB was downloaded. I didn't notice the discrepancy earlier but when it came time to install the templates setup file I knew something was amiss because the installation wizard wasn't kicked into action.

So I deinstalled my existing Templates setup files and then I attempted a download. This time only 65.2 KB was downloaded and it only took 2 seconds. But 65.2 KB does not equal a 5.4 MB file so I deleted the faulty file and tried again.

This next time it only took 1 second for the 65.2 KB file to download. I tried to install this file but got a warning notice stating that the program had performed an illegal operation. Of course it did because the download was only a partial one. So I deleted the file yet again and on this next go-round....

It worked! Yahoo...

This time it took 45 seconds for the file to download and in the end the file size was 5.58 MB. That's more like it.

So I clicked on the Templates setup icon and the installation wizard appeared and the whole installation process went off without a hitch.

Here's the take home message regarding downloading software files: Make certain you record the size of the file before you download it. Then check to confirm that the file you downloaded matches "file-size-wise". If the two numbers match Bravo! If not, delete the file on your computer and redownload.

Of all the Generator programs that I have downloaded from Armand Morin's sites I never had partial download problems before. And these partial downloads were most likely a problem that occurred between the eCoverGenerator's server and my computer.

Maybe there were hiccups in the cable system between my computer and the server. Maybe my cable provided was switching between regular power and emergency power when I was downloading and the file transfer information got messed up. Who knows for certain but the download and installations have been successfully completed and that's what really matters in the end.

Step 2: I clicked on the eCoverGenerator icon and "Voila!" the program's first of five screen appeared and I was off to the races to create my first eBook cover.

I noticed that a drop-down  menu, located at the bottom left hand corner of the screen allowed me to pick from 8 different cover types:

  • 2-sided box;
  • 3-sided box;
  • book cover;
  • electronic magazine cover;
  • CD cover;
  • special report;
  • think book;
  • wide book.

When I clicked on any of those options an example of what the "undecorated" cover would look like.

I chose the following template: "Book Cover Plain Mint" and an image of that cover appeared in a viewing window on the right half-size of the screen.

Step 3: I clicked on "Next" and the second screen appeared with the following instructions at the top of the screen: "Select the Book/Box Cover Image".

Now, I have to admit that the first time I gazed at this screen the first thought was "Now what?".

        I Felt Like A Dog That Chased Cars All Of His Life And Then Actually Caught One...

Now What?

So there I sat, looking at the screen for about 15 loooooooong seconds.

"Well," I thought, "maybe it's time for a title."

I moved my cursor over the "Aa" icon and a little "description window" popped-down with the words: "Creates A New Text Layer".

Clicking on that icon allowed me to type in my text in a little "text window".

Once I had the font, font size, color, transparency, bevel effect and shadows adjusted  I clicked on the "OK" button and was returned to Screen 2.

I readjusted the size of the text and moved it over the cover.

I did this several times to create a total of 5 different text fields:

  • "Hip-Pocket Guide To Basic Drum Beats";
  • "Rock Waltz Swing Country Latin Funk";
  • "Percussion Drums Tom Toms Bass Hi-Hats Cymbals Snare";
  • "Gerard LeBlond"; and
  • "www.BasicDrumBeats.com".

Those text fields were positioned on the cover by clicking on a text field and then moving the "boxed" text to an appropriate location.

The text that read "Rock Waltz Swing Country Latin Funk" was taken from a horizontal layout to a vertical one using a little tool on the "tool menu" that looks like two little triangles with a curved arrow that rotates the image or text that's "high-lited" 90 degrees clock-wise.

Step 4: To insert the image of
